Quichenight is Nashville songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Brett Rosenberg's long-running pop project. Hook-laden, slightly surreal, proudly DIY.
Brett Rosenberg began making esoteric full-length tapes from his 1990s teen bedroom in Saratoga Springs, New York. In the 2000s, he arrived in Boston, forming his own powerpop band, The Brett Rosenberg Problem, while performing with an wide array of other local acts: guitar in The Rudds; bass in An Army of Jasons ; recording Gregory and the Hawk's earliest demos; and finally touring as a guitar player with Graham Parker and The Figgs before relocating to Nashville in 2007.
After a pair of low-key singer-songwriter albums, Rosenberg retuned to his bedroom pop roots and complied the first Quichenight tape, Quichenight I in 2011. The collection's quirky, intelligent powerpop absorbed into Music City's ascendant DIY art-punk scene and, in 2012, Rosenberg joined Pujol as lead guitarist, splitting time between the busy garage punk touring band and making more home-recorded Quichenight albums, including the Burger Records release, Dork in the Dark.
After leaving PUJOL in 2018, Rosenberg produced or played on a handful of outside projects, most notably Jasmin Kaset's Tuxedo and Angela Autumn's viral hit Electric Lizard. In August 2026, Quichenight released the single Sentimental Heart Attack from the forthcoming album, Waterville & Surf, mixed by Kenny Woods (Beck, Flight of the Conchords).
